What is the Nueces County
Tax Appraisal Board?

The Nueces County Tax Appraisal Board is a separate body from the Appraisal Office. The Board is a select group of individuals who hears and resolves disputes over appraisal matters which are submitted to it usually by the property taxpayers. These appraisal matters are usually property taxes and appraisal issues not solved by the appraisers and are therefore submitted to the Board for appeal.

Why is it important to
VOTE for the Nueces County Tax Appraisal Board?

  • This is the first year, in the history of the state of Texas, in which three candidates will be elected to sit on the Tax Appraisal Board to hear your appeals. Who better to hear your appeal, than a person you voted for!

  • Vote for the candidate who will push for fairness in appraisals and transparency in appraising our properties and in our property taxes.

  • Vote for the candidate who will personally and publicly advocate for serious, real, and lasting property tax reform for ALL Texas Taxpayers.

My name is John M. Cudd, and I am running for the Nueces County Tax Appraisal Board.

I’ve been a patron of Nueces County for over forty ears—working in the business of oil and gas. I have the upmost respect for our community and would strive to see it flourish for the benefit of our residents, families, and businesses.

I am seeking this office, because I would like to see a fresh outlook from the tax appraisal board. If elected, I plan on being judicious, and most importantly, fair to all who come before the board. Like all of the residents in Nueces County, I want our taxes to be reflected accurately, and not unjustly robust. Your vote for me will help hold the county accountable.
